On behalf of Fr. John, Fr. Vic and the St. Francis of Assisi staff, we would like to welcome Fr. John Minde, Parochial Vicar to St. Francis of Assisi.
Fr. John Minde grew up in a large Catholic family in the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. After studying at seminary near his home in Tanzania, Fr. Minde dedicated his life to the ALCP/OSS (“Holy Spirit Fathers”) and was ordained deacon in 2004 and priest in 2005 in his home diocese of Modshi, Tanzania. He has been working ever since as a Parochial Vicar and Pastor in Tanzania, Kenya, and for the past six years in the Diocese of Palm Beach, Florida. His most recent parish was St. Josephs in Stuart, Florida, where he assisted with the services, religious education, home and hospital visiting, and worked at the parish K-8 school.
We are thrilled that Fr. John Minde is joining us, and ask for your prayers for him as he begins to serve the community and people of St. Francis of Assisi.

Parish Festival 2018
Fr. John joins the Holy Father Pope Francis in universal prayer of the Our Father on the morning of March 25th for all of those affected by the Coronavirus.
Pope Francis gave a special blessing "Urbi et Orbi" (to the city and the world) on Friday, March 27, at 10 a.m. our time, PST. Those who participate spiritually through TV, internet or radio may receive a plenary indulgence. Read about it on the Vatican News Site. We also followed this live on our Facebook Page!
Thankful for our Priests
At the Holy Thursday Mass, Pope Francis gives thanks for the priestly ministry and recalls the many priests who have died while serving the sick. Read his message here.
Words of appreciation for our Priests, our "Spiritual First Responders" in an article from the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angleles. Read their message here.
We're over a month in to Phase 2 reopening and even though we have been limited to allowing only 50 people at each Mass, we want to thank you for your cooperation and patience with the changes. This is what our St. Francis of Assisi Community is all about! Thanks to your prayers, sacrifice, and support, we have been able to do the following from June 6-July 11th:
Celebrate our regular Saturday Vigil/Sunday Masses & Weekday morning Masses
Celebrate 14 Confirmation Masses and 18 First Communion Masses
160 children have received their First Holy Communion
119 teens & 14 adults have been Confirmed
27 adults & children have been received into the Catholic Church
2600 of our parishioners were able to return to the Sacraments
Baptisms, funerals, and weddings that have been on hold have begun to be celebrated
It's been a joyous time celebrating these sacraments that so many have been awaiting! Thank you for your prayers, for those receiving sacraments of initiation and for our happy, but extremely tired priests!
