Confirmation for Adults
Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation together constitute the sacraments of Christian initiation. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that, “Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit- his actions, his gifts, and his bidding – in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of Christian life.”
Confirmation preparation for adults at St. Francis of Assisi begins in September each year and runs through April. The preparation consists of weekly classes, reading, prayer, and participation in parish events. The goal is to draw each person into a deeper relationship with Christ and His Church in preparation for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation, and possibly First Communion.
If you are an adult interested in preparing for Confirmation (and First Communion if needed), the first step is to contact Craig King, our parish Faith Formation Director. You will begin with a brief and informal conversation where you will learn more about the process and we will learn more about you. Contact Craig at King@sfahdnv.org
Class Begins: Tuesday, Sept. 3rd
